KOTA KINABALU: Electricity for areas affected by floods and landslides in Penampang are expected to have their power supply fully restored in phases starting Wednesday (Sept 22).
Political secretary to the Chief Minister Ceaser Mandela Malakun said from the reports he gathered, there were only a few electric substations to repair, and all necessary work is expected to be completed very soon.
He said the substations involved in the repair works at Sugud Penampang I, Timpangoh Laut and Sugud Maang involving Kg Koidupan, Kg Tinduzon dan Kg Kitangang.
He said following the Sept 15 disaster, the Sugud Maang substation which was damaged was repaired on Sept 18, but it had to be shut down again on Sept 21 for reconnection works as five houses did not have electricity.
Two high voltage poles and four low voltage poles for Kg Potuki I and Kg Potuki 2 were fixed on Sept 20, said Ceaser.
He added that there were delays in repairs of the damaged substations due to the unfavorable weather and inaccessible roads.
