Covid-19 Watch: 19,495 new cases, Sarawak highest with 4,709


PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 19,495 new cases of Covid-19, the Health Ministry confirmed on Wednesday (Sept 15).

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah tweeted that the country’s cumulative Covid-19 cases have now reached 2,030,935.

Sarawak has the highest number of cases compared to other states, with 4,709 new infections recorded.

This is followed by Selangor with 2,710 cases and Sabah with 2,015.

Cases in other states are as follows: Johor (1,860), Penang (1,757), Kelantan (1,434), Kedah (1,178), Perak (1,174), Terengganu (993), Pahang (766), Kuala Lumpur (363), Negri Sembilan (222), Melaka (190), Perlis (108) and Putrajaya (16).

Labuan reported zero cases.
