KUALA LUMPUR: Police here managed to track down a motorist and bring him in for questioning in their investigation into a hit and run accident involving a cyclist along Jalan Kinabalu here.

City Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said the incident occurred at around 7.15am on Wednesday (Sept 8).

He said the 33-year-old cyclist, who worked at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall, suffered light injuries and lodged a report over the accident at the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department police station.

"Following the viral video, our personnel managed to track down the motorist, a 22-year-old man, and brought him to the same police station to assist with further investigations," he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 166/59 for failure to exercise due control over the movements of a vehicle.
