KUALA LUMPUR: Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan has taken to Twitter to troll Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, alleging that Perikatan Nasional has lost its majority in the Dewan Rakyat.

The Pontian MP said with the withdrawal of support from 11 of the party's MPs, Muhyiddin only has 103 now on his side.

“Simple maths. It is said that 31 support Muhyiddin out of 42.

42 - 31 = 11 not supporting him (actually there are more).

“The government had 114 (MPs). Minus 11, and only 103 remain.

“Total MPs are 222. Two have passed away, which leaves the remaining of 220. A majority requires 110 + 1 = 111.

“103 is surely not more than 111. In short, 103 is not a majority,” he said in his post on Friday (Aug 6).

His Twitter post comes after Deputy Prime Minister and Bera MP Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said 31 Barisan Nasional MPs declared that they would continue backing the Perikatan government until the motion of confidence is tabled in Parliament next month to determine whether Muhyiddin commands the majority.
