Negri crisis: BN reps arrive for talks with Ahmad Zahid


Chembong assemblyman Datuk Zaifulbahri Idris arrives for meeting with Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to seek solution to Negri Sembilan political crisis.

KUALA LUMPUR: Negri Sembilan Barisan Nasional assemblymen have begun arriving at the Umno headquarters here for a meeting with party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi over the ongoing political crisis in the state.

Among those who arrived at about 7.20pm on Sunday (Sept 27) were Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim and Chembong assemblyman Datuk Zaifulbahri Idris, followed by Negri Sembilan Umno chief Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias not long after.

Earlier on Sunday, Ahmad Zahid announced that all 25 Barisan Nasional, PAS and Parti Wawasan Negara assemblymen in Negri Sembilan would meet to seek a solution to the state crisis.

On Friday, the state government removed photographs of the 10 Negri Sembilan executive councillors from its official portal.

Last Sunday, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir revoked the appointments of the 10 executive councillors with immediate effect after they were found to have violated their oaths of office.
