KUALA LUMPUR: All 25 Barisan Nasional, PAS and Parti Wawasan Negara assemblymen in Negri Sembilan will meet Sunday (Sept 27) night to seek a solution to the ongoing state crisis, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic).
The Barisan Nasional chairman said that following the revocation of the Negri Sembilan state executive councillors' appointments, several steps were being taken to ensure the administration continued to function smoothly.

"Since the Mentri Besar is currently the only person officially serving in the state government, the situation in Negri Sembilan must naturally be dealt with in accordance with the state constitution, customs and existing regulations.
"The purpose is to coordinate efforts, without looking to interfere, but to find the best solution to the crisis," he told a press conference after officiating at the Malaysian Makkal Sakti Party's 18th general assembly here on Saturday (Sept 27).
Ahmad Zahid said the mandate given to Barisan and Perikatan assemblymen, whose party has now been suspended, was from the people.

"The 25 assemblymen who were given this mandate formed the state government.
"So, a solution must come at the state level, in accordance with the customs and regulations that I mentioned," he said.
Ahmad Zahid said he had also given Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim the mandate to seek the best solution, including having an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Besar, as well as meeting the Undangs (ruling chiefs) and other customary leaders in the state.
"What is important is that the people must be given priority. Their problems must be addressed and they must be united.

"Whatever is happening, and whatever has happened, we must find a good solution at the state level. Certainly, we do not want the situation to worsen and the people to suffer as a result," he added.
On Friday (Sept 25), photographs of the 10 Negri Sembilan excos were removed from the official state government portal.
On Sept 20, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir revoked the appointments of the 10 with immediate effect after they were found to have violated their oath of office.
