Midlands convention centre PPVIN closed on Friday (Aug 6) for coordination work

SHAH ALAM (Bernama): The industry vaccination centre (PPVIN) at Midlands Convention Centre in Section 7 here will be closed on Friday (Aug 6) for coordination of duties regarding the vaccination of industrial workers.

"It was the PPVIN management who made the decision (on one-day closure),” Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Baharudin Mat Taib said briefly when contacted by reporters through WhatsApp on Thursday (Aug 5).

He also confirmed the authenticity of a viral video on social media showing crowds in long queues and not practising physical distancing outside the centre.

Media outlets reported on Thursday that foreign workers were told to leave the centre after long queues that stretched far beyond the centre’s perimeter formed as they waited for their Covid-19 vaccination on Thursday afternoon.

The centre’s management, with the assistance of a police team, took those measures after foreign workers were found to be not complying with the set standard operating procedure (SOP).- Bernama
