Two Sabah Umno MPs to back party’s decision

KOTA KINABALU: Two Sabah Umno MPs – Datuk Bung Moktar Radin (Kinabatangan) and Datuk Mohamad Alamin (Kimanis) – are expected to stand by the party’s decision to withdraw support for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Senior Sabah Umno sources said both men have signed affidavits to support the Umno party president’s decision to withdraw support for Muhyiddin.

They added that Bung Moktar has already publicly stated that Sabah Umno is standing with the party’s supreme council decision announced by Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi last month.

“Sabah Umno has not changed its stand on the matter.”

The sources added that in view of the current political situation at the national level, Sabah Umno has decided not to make any further statements on the issue, and all necessary statutory declarations have been signed in support of the party president’s decision.

Bung Moktar, who is Sabah Umno chief, has refrained since Tuesday night to comment on the decision of the party to withdraw support for Muhyiddin.
