Sentul cops nab two in hotel, seize 10 packets of drugs

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested two men believed to be part of a drug distribution ring at a hotel in Jinjang.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai said they raided the hotel at around 3.45pm on Tuesday (Aug 3).

"We arrested the two men in their 30s and seized 10 plastic packets containing 130.5g of methamphetamines worth RM13,000.

"Our investigations revealed the suspects were involved in drug distribution activities in the Klang Valley area," he said in a statement Wednesday (Aug 4).

He said checks revealed one of the suspects had a criminal record with 25 previous crime-related offences, and seven drug-related crimes.

"Both suspects have been remanded for seven days to help with further investigations.

"A few hours after both suspects were arrested, an acquaintance of one of the suspects tried to bribe a police inspector and a sergeant with RM10,000 in order to release his friend.

"Police warned the man to stop but he continued with his offer and was arrested by the police," he said, adding that RM10,000 cash was also seized

He said the suspect and cash was handed over to the Federal Territories Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for further action.
