Two hurt, one trapped after scaffolding at LRT3 construction site collapses


KLANG: Two workers were lightly injured while another was trapped under debris when metal scaffolding at an LRT3 construction site here collapsed.

The location of the collapse is adjacent to Premier Hotel along Jalan Langat in Bandar Bukit Tinggi.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department, efforts were under way to rescue the man caught under the debris.

All three men, Bangladeshi nationals, were workers at the construction site.

Two fire engines, one from Shah Alam and one from Port Klang, rushed to the site after receiving a distress call at 2.41pm on Thursday (July 29).

A total of 16 firemen were deployed to carry out rescue work.

The Bangladeshi worker caught under the rubble died and his remains were retrieved by firemen slightly after 4.00pm.
