IPOH: Umno’s Deputy Minister in Prime Minister’s Department Datin Mastura Mohd Yazid said in a Facebook post on Thursday (July 8) that the people wanted the government to focus on the Covid-19 pandemic.

She also used the hashtag #tugasutama (main duties), #sayaOrangUmno (I am an Umno person).

When contacted via WhatsApp to ask for her comments on Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s announcement that the party would withdraw its support for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Mastura, who is also the Kuala Kangsar MP declined to answer.

“Please refer to my FB post this morning. My stand is clear for the rakyat, ” she said.

Ahmad Zahid said the party had made the decision during a virtual supreme council meeting on Wednesday (July 7) night that had stretched till the early hours of Thursday.

Adding that Muhyiddin's government had failed to fulfil seven requirements outlined by Umno when it was sworn in on March 11 last year as the government.
