MELAKA: Police reports must be made over allegations that special treatment was given to government linked company workers to jump the queue at mega vaccination centres, says Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali.
The Melaka Chief Minister said such allegations were serious as the state government was doubling efforts to reach herd immunity.
"Let the police investigate. We will ensure the truth will prevail," he said on Wednesday (June 9).
Sulaiman was commenting on an allegation by his predecessor Adly Zahari on Facebook that special treatment was given to key state GLC management when they turned up at the centres.
Sulaiman noted that 59, 548 people in the state had been vaccinated to date.
However, he said this only made up 8.94% of the local population and the state was intensifying its vaccination drive through various initiatives.
Earlier, Sulaiman handed over identification documents to six orphaned siblings at Kampung Tangga Batu.
The six siblings faced difficulties after their late father from Sabah married a foreigner who also passed away in 2016.
The siblings are now living with their foster parents here.
