EMCO for several Perak localities from June 6, says Ismail Sabri

PUTRAJAYA: Several localities in Perak will be placed under an enhanced movement control order effective Sunday (June 6), says Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

One of the affected areas is Kampung Datuk Ahmad Said Tambahan 2 in Ulu Kinta where 24 Covid-19 cases were reported from 243 screenings carried out on the residents there.

The lockdown will also be enforced at Taman Kerian Tambahan in Parit Buntar where there are currently 63 positive cases with an infectivity rate at 15.4%.

In Manjung, three villages at Batu 9, Lekir, namely Kampung Tanjung Kepah, Kampung Batu 9 and Kampung Sungai Lombong will be placed under the order, where currently 57 positive cases with a 43.2% infectivity rate have been recorded.

In the Larut, Matang and Selama district, the lockdown will take place at Taman Berkat, which currently has 24 positive cases.

The Defence Minister also said four villages in Hulu Perak would be placed under the enhanced MCO.

The villages are Kampung Air Panas and Kampung Kuak Luar located in the Pengkalan Hulu sub-district and Kampung Alai as well as Kampung Bari in the Kerunai sub-district.

“To date, a total of 25 postive cases have been reported from the four villages,” he said on Friday (June 4).

All the localities will be under the enhanced MCO until June 19.
