Covid-19: EMCO in localities in Terengganu, Pahang, Sabah, Perak, Kelantan, Sarawak to end on Friday (June 4)


KUALA LUMPUR: The enhanced movement control order at a number of localities at Terengganu, Pahang, Sabah, Perak, Kelantan and Sarawak will come to an end on Friday (June 4).

Senior Ministry (security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said at the Rumah Awam Kos Rendah (RAKR) Pelagat 3, Besut, Terengganu, 327 screenings were conducted with 42 cases recorded there.

"At Rumah Banjir Kuala Teh, Jerantut, Pahang, 413 screenings were conducted and 80 cases were recorded.

"At Kampung Indani Semporna, Sabah, 143 screenings were conducted with 14 cases recorded.

"At Kampung Pisang, Tawau, Sabah, 366 screenings were conducted and 18 cases were recorded," he said in a statement on Thursday (June 3).

He also said at Pengkalan Hulu, Taiping, Hulu Kinta (Lahat, Chemor, Ipoh and Tanjung Rambutan) and Hulu Bernam Timur, 315 positive cases were recorded.

"As for Kampung Terusan, Mukim Limbat, Pasir Tumboh, Kelantan, 1,368 screenings were conducted with 153 cases recorded.

"At Kampung Boyan, Kuching, Sarawak 278 screenings were conducted with 62 positive cases recorded," he said.

He said the government agreed to end the enhanced MCO at these areas on Friday (June 4) following a risk assessment.

"The Health Ministry also confirmed a drop in cases, adding that the clusters were under control," he said.
