PETALING JAYA: Malaysians online agree that the appointments system for the vaccine registration should be enhanced to ensure a smoother process for applicants.

"It still confuses me as to why we have to swarm the website like we’re buying concert tickets when a majority of us had already registered via MySejahtera from months ago.

"Yes, AstraZeneca is a different opt-in program but why can't you simplify it to make it less stressful," said Twitter user Azlyn Balqis on Friday (May 28).

On Wednesday (May 26), the government said that it will make improvements to the vaccine registration system, so that the goal of achieving group or herd immunity under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme before the end of this year succeeds.

Deputy Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Ahmad Amzad Hashim said the registration to access slots for vaccination using AstraZeneca offered on Wednesday was highly unusual, as more than one million people accessed the system.

Twitter user Ng Peng You gave his thumbs up to the registration currently used under the MySejahtera app.

"The registration system on MySejahtera works well. It's your appointment system that is not working.

"Many who successfully registered months ago are still waiting for their appointments. Please improve your appointment system," he said.

Johan Yusof said the government should look into ways to ensure more people will be able to get the chance to be vaccinated.

"Some people were lucky enough to have their vaccine appointments booked as displayed on the MySejahtera app despite the JKJAV website crashing yesterday (May 27) afternoon due to very high traffic.

"As for me, still nothing. Guess I'll have to wait even longer to get a jab of my own," he said.
