KUALA LUMPUR: An online gambling centre in Cheras has been busted by the police.
Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohamed Mokhsein Mohamed Zon said that the raid was conducted at a shophouse in Taman Maluri on May 17.
“One man, believed to be the counter attendant and two suspected players were arrested during the raid.
“Investigations showed that the premises had been operating for around a month and that only regulars could enter, ” he said in a statement on Tuesday (May 18).
ACP Mohamed Mokhsein added that the police will cooperate with Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) to cut off electricity from the premises.
“All suspects, aged between 46 and 58 years old, have been brought back to the district police headquarters for questioning, ” he said.
