Baby Ainul continues to thrive

THE baby girl who once had a 200g tumour removed from her mouth is growing like any other child, Sinar Harian reported.

Ainul Mardhiah Ahmad Safiuddin was just eight months old during the operation, which was assisted by Dr Nur Amalina Che Bakri in London in 2019.

Her father Ahmad Safiuddin Ahmad Razak said his now three-year-old daughter has no feeling on the right side of her face.

However, that is the only side effect of the successful operation, he added.

“There is some swelling on the right side of her face. It cannot function properly as the nerves could not be reconnected.

“Her nerves then were too small, so it was impossible for the specialists to reconnect them, ” said Ahmad Safiuddin.

He plans to refer Ainul to a plastic surgeon for reconstruction of the damaged nerves when she turns 12.
