Ismail Sabri: Endau, Triang mukim in Mersing, Johor under MCO from April 20-May 3


PETALING JAYA: Two mukim in Johor will be placed under the movement control order.

Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Endau and Triang mukim in Mersing, Johor, have seen a rise in Covid-19 cases following the Kampung Air Batang cluster.

"The Health Ministry has so far conducted 437 Covid-19 screenings with 69 testing positive, and another 29 results still pending.

"After a risk analysis, the government has decided to enforce the MCO at the Endau and Triang mukim from April 20 to May 3," he said in a statement on Monday (April 19).

Meanwhile, the enhanced MCO at Kampung Murni C, Nabawan, Sabah, will end on schedule on April 20.

"The Health Ministry confirms a drop in cases there, and that clusters are under control with the last case recorded on April 13.

"All positive cases have received treatment and close contacts have been isolated," he said.

On enforcement statistics, 191 people were issued compounds on Sunday (April 18), while five more have been remanded.

Thirty-one illegal foreigners were arrested under Ops Benteng, with nine vehicles seized.
