Two held and 13.2kg of meth seized in raid at Cheras car park

PETALING JAYA: More than RM470,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine was seized after police raided a car park in Bandar Mahkota Cheras.

Selangor Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) chief Asst Comm Ahmad Jefferi Abdullah said the April 12 raid also saw two men arrested at a supermarket car park.

"One canvas bag was found inside the boot of a car," he said in a statement on Friday (April 16).

"Checks led to the discovery of 13 packages of Chinese tea which contained meth.

"In total, police seized 13.26kg of suspected methamphetamine," he added.

The two suspects, aged 30 and 32, tested negative for drugs.

Police estimated the value of the seized drugs at around RM477,360.

"The suspects have been remanded until April 18," ACP Ahmad Jefferi said.
