PM: We’re on track to meet target

CYBERJAYA: Malaysia is on course to achieve its target of migrating 80% of government data to cloud system by the end of 2022.

To set things in motion, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pic) launched Telekom Malaysia Bhd’s (TM) Cloud and Cybersecurity Services for the government – a key step under the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (MyDigital).

“The launch of TM’s Cloud and Cybersecurity Services for the government is also an excellent start for the country’s MyDigital initiative, which is targeted to attract RM70bil in new investment in the digital sector by 2030.

“This cloud service will enable Malaysians to access and enjoy a seamless connectivity experience in support of a more digital lifestyle, digital society, digital business, digital industry and digital government – in line with the MyDigital initiative, ” he said in a Facebook post.

Under the initiative, TM has been selected as sole cloud service provider. Through its enterprise arm TM ONE, it will provide a range of connectivity, ICT and digital solutions to support government agencies.
