Teratai rep steps down as Selangor DAP organising secretary but remains with party, says Gobind

PETALING JAYA: Teratai assemblyman Bryan Lai stepped down as the Selangor DAP organising secretary with immediate effect on Thursday (April 1), says Gobind Singh Deo.

Banting assemblyman Lau Weng San will take over the post.

Gobind, who is Selangor DAP chairman, said Lai conveyed his decision to him in a letter on Thursday.

"I called for a meeting with the DAP state committee on Thursday (April 1) afternoon and the committee, after deliberation, accepted his resignation.

"Lai remains as a DAP member and assemblyman for Teratai," said Gobind in a statement issued on Friday (April 2).

At the same time, Gobind also said the state committee would refer Lai's resignation to the DAP national disciplinary committee for their consideration.
