Celebrity wedding probed over SOP breach

KUALA LUMPUR: An investigation is underway in connection with a possible breach of the Covid-19 standard operating procedure by those who attended TV host and entrepreneur Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor and preacher PU Riz’s wedding.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the police will call up the wedding organiser soon.

“We have begun investigation into suspected violations of the Covid-19 SOP under Section 21A of Act 342 (Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases), ” he said yesterday.

Photos of the wedding ceremony on Saturday have gone viral on social media, with many crying foul over the alleged lack of SOP.

After months of speculation over their nuptials, Neelofa, 32, and PU Riz, 26, officially tied the knot.

The akad nikah (marriage solemnisation) took place at a hotel here in the presence of family and friends. Before their big day, Neelofa had been tight-lipped about her relationship with PU Riz, whose real name is Muhammad Haris Muhammad Ismail.
