KUALA LUMPUR: Police will call up the organiser of TV host-entrepreneur Neelofa and preacher PU Riz's wedding ceremony over suspected breach of Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP).

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said police have begun an investigation of the matter.

"We will investigate the matter under Section 21A of Act 342 (Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases)," he said when contacted on Sunday (March 28).

It was reported after months of speculation that Neelofa, 32, and PU Riz, 26, have officially tied the knot.

The nikah ceremony took place at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur at 11.40am on Saturday (March 27) in the presence of close family members and friends.

Neelofa, who has kept mum all this while about her relationship with PU Riz, or Muhammad Haris Muhammad Ismail, finally spilled the beans on how they met to the media.

Photos of the wedding ceremony have gone viral, with many questioning the apparent lack of SOP compliance by those at the event.
