PETALING JAYA: A baby girl, who needs surgery for a heart defect, has received RM10,000 in financial assistance from Badan Amal dan Kebajikan Tenaga Isteri-Isteri Menteri dan Timbalan Menteri (Bakti).

MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and his wife Datin Seri Jessica Lim visited baby Inara Humairah at the National Heart Institute here on Tuesday.

In a social media post, Dr Wee said the baby needed surgery for a complex ventricular septal defect, a condition involving a hole in the wall separating the heart’s lower chambers.

“The RM10,000 contribution from Bakti could help the family meet the cost of the required surgery,” added the Ayer Hitam MP.

Established in 1977, Bakti provides charitable assistance to those in need.

Dr Wee noted that the baby’s parents, Insanul Asyraf Md Yusop and Nurul Izzatie Najihah Muhamad Ruzaini, are residents of his constituency in Johor.

He expressed hope that the visit would offer encouragement to Inara Humairah’s family as they face the medical challenges ahead.

“Let us all pray for Inara Humairah’s recovery and happiness,” he added.
