Cop and seven-year-old son found dead in car with gunshot wounds

SEREMBAN: A police corporal and his seven-year-old son were found dead in a car with gunshot wounds in Taman Sentosa Jaya here.

Seremban OCPD ACP Mohd Said Ibrahim said the cop was believed to have used a weapon belonging to the force in the incident.

"The team reached the scene around 6.55pm and found the policeman and his son dead in a Proton Wira. The policeman was with the Seremban district station and preliminary probe found that he used a police-issued pistol in the incident," he said.

Speaking to reporters at the crime scene on Thursday (March 26), Mohd Said added that the police believe he shot his son first and then committed suicide.

"Both had gunshot wounds to their head," he said.

ACP Mohd Said said police were still investigating the reason behind the murder-suicide but it is believed to be due to a family problem.
