IPOH: A ruckus broke out at the 19th Perak DAP state convention when Kampar MP Thomas Su alleged others were obtaining an unfair advantage for the state party polls on Sunday (March 14).
Su was seen in a heated argument with Tanah Rata assemblyman Chiong Yoke Kong, the returning officer for the election.
He claimed registration of delegates was not being conducted fairly as the deadline was supposed to be between 9am and 10am but it went on past that time.
He also claimed that they were denied access to the attendance list.
Su and his camp, which includes Ipoh Barat MP M. Kulasegaran and Pasir Bedamar assemblyman Terence Naidu, will be going up against the current committee led by chairman Nga Kor Ming.
Separately, Terence claimed that he had not been invited to state party committee meetings despite being a committee member.
"I have tried to ask the party secretary about it but was ignored," he claimed, adding that this could lead to "other bad practices".
When approached, Nga, who is Teluk Intan MP and Aulong assemblyman, declined to comment.
