Perak DAP polls: Nga Kor Ming, Sivakumar re-elected as state party chairman, deputy chairman

IPOH: Nga Kor Ming has been re-elected as Perak DAP chairman.

This was following the landslide win during the state party polls that was held in conjunction with the 19th Perak DAP convention here on Sunday (March 14).

Nga, who is also national DAP deputy secretary-general, and 14 others from his team polled more than 1,100 votes each.

National party assistant organising secretary and Kampar MP Thomas Su only got 550 votes.

Nga and fellow national party deputy secretary-general V. Sivakumar, who is Batu Gajah MP, both polled highest with 1,228 votes.

In expressing his thanks to the delegates, Nga also announced the re-election of Sivakumar as the state party deputy chairman.

Among those who were re-elected were state party vice-chairmen A. Sivanesan and Abdul Aziz Bari, secretary Wong Kah Woh, organising secretary Teh Kok Lim and publicity secretary Chong Zhemin.

National DAP Youth chief and Pasir Pinji assemblyman Howard Lee was elected as the new treasurer, which was formerly held by Tronoh assemblyman Paul Yong.

Beruas MP Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham, who is national party assistant treasurer, continues to be the state party’s advisor.

Here is the new Perak DAP executive committee line-up for 2021-2023:

Chairman: Nga Kor Ming (Teluk Intan MP and Aulong assemblyman)

Deputy chairman: V. Sivakumar (Batu Gajah MP)

Vice-chairmen: Abdul Aziz Bari (Tebing Tinggu assemblyman) and A. Sivanesan (Sungkai assemblyman)

Secretary: Wong Kah Woh (Ipoh Timur MP)

Assistant secretary: Ong Boon Piow (Bercham assemblyman)

Treasurer: Howard Lee Chuan How (Pasir Pinji assemblyman)

Assistant treasurer: Dr Ko Chung Sen (Kepayang assemblyman)

Organising secretary: Teh Kok Lim (Taiping MP)
