Zahid claims attacks from cyber-troopers after Umno’s decision to cut ties with Bersatu in GE15

PETALING JAYA: Following Umno's decision to sever ties with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia in GE15, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has claimed that he was attacked on social media by "keyboard warriors".

According to Ahmad Zahid, the "cyber-attacks" came following his calls for Barisan and Umno supporters to go "all out" in using social media.

"The cyber-troopers were angry. They attacked my Facebook account. They undermined and spun my calls," said Ahmad Zahid in a Facebook post.

He alluded that perhaps the internal factions in Barisan were ticked off by his calls to sever ties with Perikatan Nasional and Bersatu in GE15.

"The ‘slander cluster’ is worried the rakyat will know the truth that they were fooled by their 'boss'.

The ‘power cluster’ is afraid that their 'boss' will lose power eventually when the rakyat realises that Barisan and Umno are the best for them, ” he said.

"The 'cari makan cluster’ is afraid that Umno and Barisan will rise again because their 'boss' will lose his position," added Ahmad Zahid.

Ahmad Zahid then urged Umno and Barisan supporters to focus on the agenda of the party's struggles.

"God-willing, the social media platform will aid your noble efforts," he added.

Ahmad Zahid also urged Umno and Barisan supporters to ignore the "reverse psychology" tactics used by cyber-troopers.

"It's never too late. Let's use GE14 as the benchmark. GE15 is the objective of our collective efforts," he said.
