Covid-19: Eleven new clusters found, bringing active total to 466

PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry has detected 11 new Covid-19 clusters, bringing the total number of active clusters nationwide up to 466.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) said seven of the new clusters are at workplaces, with three in Selangor, two in Kuala Lumpur, and one each in Sabah and Johor.

The Jalan Dua Belas cluster, with 19 cases, is linked to a public administration centre in Kampung Batu Muda, Kepong.

"The cases under this cluster have been traced to an index case who developed symptoms and tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 29.

"Until Feb 10, a total of 103 individuals with links to this cluster have been screened," said Dr Noor Hisham.

Two other new clusters have been classified as community infections.

One is the Jalan Kancil Waha cluster, an outbreak at Felda Simpang Waha in Kota Tinggi, Johor, where nine people tested positive.

The other community outbreak is the Lorong Sahabat cluster (17 cases) at Kampung Tengah in Kluang, Johor.

An outbreak at a nursing home was also discovered in Taman Taynton View in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

Dubbed the Jalan Harun cluster, it has nine cases out of 11 individuals tested at the home.
