KUALA LUMPUR: Compounds were issued to 372 individuals while 21 others were remanded for breaching movement control order (MCO) rules on Wednesday (Jan 6).
Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic) said among the standard operating procedures (SOP) breached were activities at entertainment outlets involving 195 people, not wearing face masks (89), failure to provide items to record customers' details (70), and not maintaining physical distancing (36).
"The compliance operation task force performed 48,336 inspections nationwide on Wednesday.
"Among the locations checked were 3,482 supermarkets, 4,684 restaurants and 3,310 banks," he said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 7).
On Ops Benteng, 49 undocumented immigrants and two tekong were detained on Wednesday, he added.
"Authorities also seized seven land vehicles.
"A total of 111 roadblocks were conducted nationwide on Wednesday," he said.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said 99,573 individuals returned to Malaysian since July 24.
"A total of 7,985 people are still undergoing mandatory quarantine while 540 people were sent to hospitals for treatment.
"A total of 91,048 individuals have been discharged and allowed to return home," he said.
On supply of necessities, Ismail Sabri said the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry inspected 11 items at 698 premises on Wednesday.
"The supply of basic items is sufficient and easy to come by," he added.
The ministry also conducted 1,449 checks on SOP compliance and discovered that all premises complied with the regulations, Ismail Sabri said.
On public sanitisation operations, 13,410 operations were conducted in 144 zones since March 30 last year.
"A total of 14,919 have been sanitised so far," he said.
