RM106mil drug bust at sea, MMEA scores biggest haul to date

GEORGE TOWN: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) scored its biggest drug haul so far when they foiled an attempt to smuggle into the country methamphetamine worth a whopping RM105.9mil.

MMEA director-general Maritime Admiral Datuk Mohd Zubil Mat Som said the bust took place after a team of MMEA personnel on a routine Ops Pertiwi patrol detected a suspicious-looking recreational boat near Pulau Kendi manned by a suspect at about 11.30am on Wednesday (Dec 9).
