Fire and Rescue Dept get wild boar out of Putrajaya shopping complex

PUTRAJAYA: A wild boar wound up stuck inside a sports shop at a shopping complex here after finding its way there.

Videos of the incident showing the wild boar walking around the shop have been going viral on social media.

The wild animal seemed perplexed inside the shop, as it is seen walking around the aisles of sportswear. The entrance was closed off to prevent the boar from “exploring” further.

When contacted, Putrajaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Fadzil Ali said that shopping mall management called Bomba and JPAM to assist in the matter.

"The animal was released and headed towards Presint 16," he added.

Meanwhile, Putrajaya Fire and Rescue station head Deputy Supt Che Shaari Abdullah said that a call about the incident was made at around 12.38pm.

He said that eight officers and firefighters responded to the call.

“The personnel shooed the animal away, and it has been handed over to the Putrajaya wildlife department for further action, ” he said when contacted
