Asyraf Wajdi hopes BN-PN cooperation will extend to Putrajaya

MELAKA: Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki (pic) hopes the political cooperation between Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional will extend to Putrajaya.

“We are continuing the spirit of cooperation and consensus from Negri Sembilan to Melaka,” he told reporters at the Bukit Katil nomination centre at Dewan Tun Ali on Saturday (Oct 31).

Asyraf said the cooperation was more structured this time, with Barisan and Perikatan reaching an understanding on their manifestos and joint campaign operations.

He said his observations during the nomination process across the state constituencies showed Barisan and Perikatan election machinery working alongside one another.

Party leaders were also present to support the joint efforts, he added.

“This is to ensure that we fulfil the aspirations of the grassroots, who want to see the two largest political parties working together,” he said.
