Conditional MCO to continue in KL, Sabah and most of Selangor (updated)

PETALING JAYA: The conditional MCO in Kuala Lumpur, Sabah and most of Selangor is set to continue until Dec 20, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic).

"Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor, and Kuala Selangor in Selangor are the only areas in the state to not be under the conditional MCO," the Senior Minister said in his daily Covid-19 update on Saturday (Dec 5).

In Kedah, Kulim will be placed under the conditional MCO from Dec 7 until Dec 20.

All of Penang will return back to the recovery MCO, except for the Barat Daya and Timur Laut sub-districts, which will still be under the conditional MCO until Dec 20.

The Jalan Paya Terubong and Desa Bistari flats would, however, be placed under enhanced MCO, from Dec 7 to Dec 20.

The Teja and Changkat Jong sub-districts in Perak will have their conditional MCO extended to Dec 20, while the rest of the state will revert back to the recovery MCO as per scheduled.

Enhanced MCO in Zone B and Zone C in Taman Meru 2C, Ipoh will end on Saturday (Dec 5), earlier than the previously announced date of Dec 10 due to all Covid-19 tests having had their results announced.

However, an enhanced MCO will be enacted at the Langkap Immigration depot and quarters in Hilir Perak until Dec 19 due to an increase in cases among detainees.

All of Kelantan will revert to the recovery MCO except Kota Bharu, Machang, Tanah Merah and Pasir Mas. An enhanced MCO will also be enacted at the Madrasah Ad-Diniah Al Falahiah in Kampung Dalam Huma until Dec 20.

Only Seremban and Port Dickson in Negri Sembilan will continue to be under the conditional MCO until Dec 20.

Meanwhile in Johor, the conditional MCO will be extended in Kota Tinggi, while three districts; Johor Bharu, Batu Pahat and Kulai will now also be placed under the conditional MCO from Dec 7 to Dec 20.

Ismail Sabri added that starting Dec 7 there would be no more roadblocks at state borders with the public allowed to do interstate travel.

He said that now the police would focus more on SOP compliance.

Passengers in vehicles will not be limited as well and would follow the capacity of the car.

Selangor and Kuala Lumpur have been under the conditional MCO since Oct 14.

Sabah and Labuan have been placed under a similar order since Oct 13 and Oct 17, respectively. Perak, Penang and Negri Sembilan’s conditional MCO was from Nov 9 while Kelantan’s was enforced on Nov 21.
