Covid 19: Four new clusters detected in Sabah, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur


PUTRAJAYA: A total of four new clusters have been detected in Sabah, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the index case of the Batu Tiga cluster in Tawau (case 49,006) tested positive on Nov 17 after showing symptoms.

"A total of 28 individuals have been screened until Dec 5 and all of them tested positive, ” he said.

Dr Noor Hisham added that the Jalan Domis cluster in Penampang, Kota Kinabalu and Tongod involved index case 63,267 who tested positive on Nov 29 following close contact screening.

"Until Dec 5,132 individuals were tested and 12 tested positive from this cluster," he said in a statement on Saturday (Dec 5).

He said in Klang, the Andalas cluster was detected after the index case (case 68,771) tested positive on Dec 3 after showing symptoms.

"Until Dec 5,43 individuals were screened and 16 of them tested positive. The Bulatan construction site cluster in Cheras, Titiwangsa and Lembah Pantai in Kuala Lumpur was detected involving index case 67,708 who tested positive on Dec 2 following screening before going overseas.

"Until Dec 5,319 individuals were screened and 163 of them were positive for the virus," he said.
