Ahmad Faizal Azumu, Perak Speaker to seek audience with Sultan on Friday (Dec 4)


IPOH: Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu is expected to seek an audience with Perak's Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah on Friday (Dec 4) evening, having lost the confidence motion against him in the state assembly.

According to a source, Ahmad Faizal and Perak State Speaker Datuk Mohamad Zahir Abdul Khalid will seek an audience with Sultan Nazrin at Istana Kinta at 5pm on Friday.

In the earlier vote of confidence, Ahmad Faizal received ten votes in favour, while 48 voted against him and one abstained.

State Opposition leader Dr Abdul Aziz Bari called for a bloc vote of confidence and was supported by Umno's Bukit Chandan assemblyman, Maslin Sham Razman.

The Perak state assembly has 25 Umno assemblymen, 16 from DAP, five from Bersatu, five from Amanah, three from Keadilan, three from PAS, one from Gerakan and one independent assemblyman.
