A TOTAL of 50,269 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have folded since March this year when the movement control order was first implemented to stem the Covid-19 pandemic, says the Entrepreneurship Development and Cooperatives Ministry.
It quoted statistics by the Companies Commission of Malaysia, which noted that 9,675 SMEs had shut down during the first phase of the MCO from March 18 to June 9.
