Health DG: 'Gross misrepresentation' to say Malaysia lacks public healthcare


PETALING JAYA: As a country which has achieved universal health coverage for every citizen since the 1990s, it is an "incorrect and gross misrepresentation" to state that Malaysia lacks a state healthcare system, says Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The Health director-general was responding to a line in an article dated Oct 19 on the Nature website titled "The scientist-gardener who is harnessing tobacco's power to heal".
