Protesters start gathering outside Sogo for 'Tangkap Azam Baki' rally

KUALA LUMPUR: Over 100 protesters have begun gathering for the “Tangkap Azam Baki” protest outside the Sogo shopping mall, here.

Braving constant light rain, protesters sang short songs demanding the arrest of former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki as more people continued to arrive.

Among those present was former PKR Putrajaya MP candidate Noraishah Mydin Abdul Aziz.

MCA Youth was also at the rally, with its deputy vice-chairman Tan Yang Pang and publicity deputy chairman Chai Jie Yang joining the crowd.

The protesters were met by dozens of police officers who lined the nearby streets and the entrance to the mall. Police were also joined by officers from the Kuala Lumpur Police Strike Force.
