PETALING JAYA: The conditional movement control order (MCO) in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya will be extended for another two weeks until Nov 9, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
“A risk assessment by the Ministry of Health found that there are localities with a high risk for the spread of Covid-19,” he said on Monday (Oct 26) during his daily press briefing.
Under the conditional MCO, inter-district travel will not be allowed and employees who have to do so must have a letter from their employer and show their staff pass.
Schools, kindergartens, nurseries and institutes of higher learning and tahfiz are to remain closed during this period, while social and cultural events are not allowed.
Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya were initially placed under the conditional MCO for 14 days from Oct 14 until Oct 27 following a spike in Covid-19 cases in these areas.
The districts of Hulu Langat, Petaling, Gombak, Klang, Kuala Langat, and Sepang in Selangor are all red zones.
Kuala Lumpur is also a red zone, while Putrajaya is a yellow zone.
