SIBU: The police have arrested two suspects nine hours after the body of a 37-year-old woman was found partially stuffed in a suitcase on Tuesday (Oct 6).

"Both suspects are not related to the victim, Heng Miow Lin, but they had previous business dealings with her," said Sibu OCPD ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit.

He added that the two – a man and a woman – were picked up from a house in Jalan Tong Sang here after a note was found on the body of Heng, who was from Perak.

“There were no identification documents on the body, but her name and IC number were written on the note,” he said, adding that the note also contained the name of Heng's 15-year-old daughter.

ACP Stanley said there were bruises found on Heng's face and neck.

"The cause of death is still being ascertained," he said.

A check on the woman arrested revealed that she had a prior record for violent crime, he added.

The case has been classified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code
