KUALA LUMPUR: A 20-year-old female student suffered a broken left leg after a car ploughed into a row of tables set up in front of a restaurant in Cheras.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement department chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya said a 62-year-old man was parking his car at Jalan Kaskas, Cheras at 11.27pm on Sunday (Sept 27) when he accidentally pressed the accelerator and rammed the tables.
"He also rammed his vehicle against another car. The retiree and the other driver did not sustain any injury but the student suffered a broken left leg," he said when contacted on Monday (Sept 28).
The victim, a customer of the restaurant, was rushed to the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital for treatment, he added.
"We are investigating the accident under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," ACP Zulkefly said.
