Cops arrest contractor over criminal intimidation, assault of security guard

KAJANG: The police have detained a contractor in his 40s for three days after he allegedly assaulted a security guard at a condominium here.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said the man was believed to have been upset after the guard clamped his car for parking illegally at the premises on Sunday (Aug 16).

"When the suspect found out, he hurled profanities at the guard and slapped him," ACP Zaid said, adding the suspect also threatened to injure the guard further, as well as hurt his employer.

The guard later sought treatment at Hospital Kajang for injuries to his left cheek and lodged a report over the incident.

A recording of the incident later went viral on social media.

ACP Zaid said that police arrested the suspect at 1.30am on Monday (Aug 17) and the man had been remanded until Aug 19 to assist with investigations.

The case is being investigated for assault and criminal intimidation.

ACP Zaid encouraged anyone with information on the case to call the investigating officer at 016-9985730.
