PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Court has ruled that the Parliament has the legislative power to enact offences and its prescribed punishment, including the mandatory death sentence.
In a 8-1 majority decision here read by Chief Judge of Malaya Justice Azahar Mohamed, he said that prescribing the measure of punishment is the prerogative of Parliament.
