PETALING JAYA: In a short and sweet show of affection, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has wished his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali a happy 94th birthday on Sunday (July 12).
In a video posted on his Facebook and Twitter accounts, he posted a simple "Selamat Hari Jadi, Hasmah (Happy Birthday, Hasmah)" message and a one-minute video showing a montage of tender moments shared by the couple, who have been married for 64 years.
The video starts with a scene showing Dr Mahathir holding a sign saying "Gadis Ayu (pretty lady)" pointing to Dr Siti Hasmah on his left while she holds up a similar sign saying "Jejaka Tampan (handsome man)", shot during a Hari Raya photo session.
More footage of the couple spending time together were included in the video, including a heart-warming moment when the couple fed each other cake during Dr Mahathir's recent birthday celebration.
The video was set to the classic Tan Sri P. Ramlee tune Nak Dara Rindu, played by Malaysian violinist Endang Hyder, who had dedicated the song to Dr Mahathir when the former premier turned 95 on Friday (July 10).
The video has won the hearts of many, garnering over 7,000 likes, 35,000 views and has been shared 260 times since it was posted on Facebook late Sunday.
Many Malaysians have been pouring in their well wishes in the comment sections.
