PUTRAJAYA: Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Shabudin Yahaya has been appointed as a new Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, in charge of the law and Parliament portfolio.

Shabudin replaces fellow Bersatu MP Datuk Eddin Syazlee Shith, who is now Deputy Works Minister.

The post was made vacant after Sri Gading MP Datuk Shahrudin Md Salleh stepped down from the post.

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in a statement Monday (July 6) said the appointment received the assent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in accordance with Article 43A of the Federal Constitution.

The PMO said Shabudin was sworn-in as Deputy Minister in the presence of the King at a ceremony on Monday (July 6).
