Bangladeshi among three arrested for alleged drug trafficking in Bandar Sunway

SUBANG JAYA: Three men, including a Bangladeshi, were arrested for allegedly trafficking drugs in Bandar Sunway.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Risikin Satiman said the suspects, aged between 30 and 40, were nabbed at about 8.30pm last Thursday (June 18).

"We seized 20 packages believed to be filled with syabu worth about RM800,000.

"Two of them tested positive for drugs, too," he told a press conference on Monday (June 22).

Further checks revealed that one of the suspects had a record for drug related offences and other crimes, he added.

"We also seized two vehicles and RM10,000 in cash belonging to the suspects.

"The suspects have been remanded until Thursday (June 25)," he added.

In a separate case, ACP Risikan said a lorry driver was detained for allegedly trafficking 54 packages filled with ketum leaves last Friday (June 19).

"We detected the lorry at Jalan Tasik Prima at about 10pm.

"We followed the lorry, but the driver sped off when he saw police were tailing him. However, we managed to catch up to him soon after and apprehend him," he added.

ACP Risikan said the driver in his 30s was detained, along with the 12kg of packages.

"We discovered that the suspect was transporting the packages from Teluk Intan, Perak.

"We are investigating the matter further," he said.
