JOHOR BARU: Former Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Osman Sapian was the only absentee during a meeting of state Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) elected representatives and president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The meeting, which was held on Wednesday (June 3) in Kuala Lumpur, was also attended by Pemanis assemblyman Dr Chong Fat Full, who quit PKR leading to the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan in Johor.

In a statement, the elected representatives took seriously Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar’s decree and would stand united as an important component under Perikatan Nasional, which is administering the state government.

“All assemblymen who attended the meeting will adhere to His Majesty’s decree to be together in ensuring the rakyat’s interests are upheld and at the same time, strengthen Johor Bersatu as a supporter of the state government.

“In the meeting, which was attended by Dr Chong, all assemblymen, except for Osman, who is the Kempas assemblyman, expressed their full support in the leadership of Muhyiddin, who is also Gambir assemblyman, ” the statement read.

At the meeting, which lasted for almost two hours, Muhyiddin also received full support on the position of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who was ousted from Bersatu recently.

The Bersatu assemblymen also presented Muhyiddin with a T-shirt with the slogan “Ikut Nasihat Abah; Kita Mesti Menang” (Follow Father’s Advice, We Will Surely Win) as a symbol of his leadership as both Prime Minister and party president.
