No directives yet for teachers to report for duty, says Ismail Sabri

PUTRAJAYA: The Education Ministry has yet to instruct teachers to be back on duty, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

"There is no such directive, but if there are teachers who have gone back to school to help out the principal and headmaster, it is done voluntarily.

"It is not because there is a directive from the ministry for them to do so.

"Furthermore, schools have yet to be reopened, so there is no need to ask them to come back to work yet," he said on Wednesday (June 3).

He asked on claims that some teachers have been ordered to come back to work.

Schools have been closed since March 18 when the government imposed the movement control order (MCO).
