PETALING JAYA: The Health Ministry has identified a new cluster of positive Covid-19 cases among security guards at a mall in Cheras, with 10 positive cases detected so far.
Of the 10, nine cases involved Nepalese while the other is a Malaysian.
Health director general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the cause of the cluster was still being investigated, and that all workers and close contacts had been screened.
In a daily briefing on Thursday (May 7), Dr Noor Hisham said all the Nepalese were staying in the same place in Cheras.
He said that besides the security personnel, workers of a supermarket in the mall were also screened.
So far, 436 people have been screened for Covid-19, with 10 testing positive, 347 testing negative and 79 still waiting for their results.
